IT COMES WITH THE BUILDING | A New Musical

Book by HARRISON DAVID RIVERS
Music by JACOB YANDURA
Lyrics by REBEKAH GREER MELOCIK

IT COMES WITH THE BUILDING tells the story of Theo and Henry, a recently married gay couple, who move into the Greenwich Lane in 2015, and David, a virtuosic dancer, who is dying in the AIDS ward of St. Vincent’s Hospital in 1992. As David’s condition worsens, he begins to have visions of a man from the future. Left alone at home while Henry travels for work, Theo becomes convinced that the apartment is haunted. Both men attempt to solve the mystery of the other, their mutual obsession eventually transcending time and space and bringing them together.

Evoking the longing and quiet sensuality of Andrew Haight’s ALL OF US STRANGERS (2023), the claustrophobic cat and mouse suspense of Terence Young’s WAIT UNTIL DARK (1967), and the spectral beauty and dark perversity of Tomas Alfredson’s thrillingly horrific LET THE RIGHT ONE IN (2008), IT COMES WITH THE BUILDING is a supernatural love story about the dangers of forgetting.
